What You’ll Learn

Studio 21: A1.1 Overview Start auf Deutsch (Start German)

  • Recognize and understand international terms in German.
  • Greet the other person, introduce yourself and others, ask questions about their names and origins, and spell out their first and last names.

Chapter 1: Kaffee or Tee?

  • Meet new people, introduce yourself and others.
  • Learn numbers from 1 to 1000.
  • Order and pay in a café.
  • Share and understand phone numbers.

Part 2: Sprache im Course (Language in the Course)

  • Communicate in class: ask questions, ask for repetitions, and make use of dictionaries.
  • Practice vocabulary learning strategies.

Chapter 3: Städte – Länder – Sprachen (Cities, Countries and Languages)

  • Talk about cities, landmarks, countries, and languages.
  • Share where you’ve been and describe geographic locations.

Chapter 4: Menschen und Häuser (People and Homes)

  • Identify and interpret houses and apartments.
  • Write down the addresses of other countries and discuss their living conditions.
  • Learn vocabulary related to housing and furniture.

Chapter 5: Assignments

  • Share details about the time, such as the time and days of the week.
  • Arrange appointments and meetups, apologize for delays, and discuss daily routines.

Chapter 6: Orientierung (Orientation)

  • Describe where people live, where they work, and how they commute.
  • Ask for directions or find someone in a building.
  • Define a workspace in an office environment.

What to Expect

  • Final Exam: At the end of the course, you will take a written and oral exam. A score of 70% is required to advance to the next level.

Terms and Conditions

  • A digital copy of the learning materials is included in your course fee. If you prefer a printed copy, you can purchase it from our recommended supplier for an additional fee.
  • Public group classes are designed as 30 academic hours per CEFR level. If the group reaches 5-7 students, we will extend the program for another 10 academic hours. If only two students register before the course starts, the group will switch to a semi-private format of 20 academic hours.
  • Want to switch to a different group or program? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
  • All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or an emergency arises, we will arrange for a substitute teacher who is fully informed about your progress.
  • Once you have joined a group, it is not possible to switch to another group or program.
  • Please note that once group classes have started, course fees will not be refunded.
  • We can record group lectures to watch later, but only if everyone in the class gives their consent before the class starts.
  • At the end of each program, you will take a final exam, both written and oral. You will need to score at least 70% to advance to the next CEFR level.
  • After completing your final exam, you will receive a progress report, recommendations, and a certificate for your hard work!
